Limerence

Limerence sucks me like a straw,
and fools my gut to trust its grumble.
Until I’m filled with nothing less —
and wasps and dragonflies learn to love me.

Avulse the glitter atop debility. —
How unpromised was this segway —
on a misadventure hangs my hat.
A treadmill to your heart had spun
and with malaise, emergency glitter.
The transparent present, and ubiquitous past
eddy into crystal.

As embers die beneath my skin,
aweless in the one-way spector —
willed to the wisp of aberrant light,
cupboard love doored in denial
coffin birthed, a saudade.
