Irony is the hot new thing.

When I first met you,
I assumed the best.
As time went on,
I fell into a mythology,
and in time, I made you
a demon. One I die for,

as the narrative
has brought me here,
and I will not get out,
because I do not want to.

I do not have to.
There isn’t a need.
I much enjoy the ocean.

How the water feels.
It feels fantastic.
Baptisingly powerful.

I’ve been
swimming for days and,
still have my demon.
We belong to the sea.

The answer is always no.
