Am I the only poet,
who isn’t afraid of illusions?
I’m afraid of unattended pitbulls,
alligators at the water’s edge,
sharks at the water’s edge,
men approaching in dark alleys
anxious to stand their ground,
polar bears,
brown recluses finding way
into old pairs of shoes,
as well as other things.
But definitely not illusions.
In fact on the internet,
where optical illusions
are readily abundant,
I find them mildly amusing,
sometimes more so.
Such as this one:
That is a good one.
You’ll have to admit,
even if you’re frightened,
it is remarkable how
it seems like one thing
but is really another.
