How does that happen?

Perhaps we could stop then

with the classic cliche

of the typical fake type,

the one who

forever fights the grain-

and fights the grain for the sake

of fighting the grain

and for nothing else.


You know the guy who

always speaks his mind-

yet somehow never speaks his own-

and he does this for the prize of not conforming-

even when his heart wants him to,

even at the expense of such unfulfillment,

and he does this for sake of fighting the grain.


Is that what he thinks it is, too?


Because it’s so smart to do that.

Even though he’s really just like them,

for the sake of the grain he has to fight himself,

and so he does exactly what he aims to do.

You know that guy? 

Me neither.

Honestly sounds like he is the grain.
