Summer Day Haikus and Senryus

[1] Mosquito bites;
A man plays the fiddle
In red and white stripes.

[2] The crickets
Are not chirping;
The chameleon is tired.

[3] Corn dog at the fair;
Horseradish in the mustard––
A WNY thing.

[4] Behold the sound––
As the boater passes by––
Time freezes in his ear.

[5] Rain smashes––
Steam rises;
Summer is real.

[6] Under the banyan tree,
The old man sleeps;
The brave birds will eat.
